What helps to keep a strong heart?

To have a healthy life, we should keep our hearts stay strong. First, we should avoid smoking. Second, we should maintain a healthy body weight. Third, we should keep having a healthy diet. Forth, we have to stay in good mental health status. Lastly, we should keep tracking our body condition.

DO NOT SMOKE. Smoking is one of the top controllable risk factor for heart disease. Quit smoking does not only benefit your heart. It also benefits your lungs, blood stream and all the functioning of your body.

Maintain a healthy body weight. Excess belly fat has been linked to higher blood pressure and unhealthy blood lipid levels. Doing that is hard but a small start always helps. Adults need to do at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 plus days a week to ensure a healthy heart. It can be split up to 10 minutes sectors or all at once. The best would be able to exercise that raises the heart rate and make the body breathless.

Control the diet you are having. Limit the bad fats you consume, a controlled portion of bad fats and reduce heart issues by half. Cut the salt. Cook without salt, avoid processed food, find ways to make food delicious without the use of salt. Pump up produce! Consume at least 2.5 cups of vegetables and fruits per day. It will reduce the risk for stroke, heart disease and cancer. It also helps in slimming. Go for Grains! Whole grains helps in lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, at times also helping prevent type 2 diabetes.

Mental health plays a significant role in a person’s healthiness of the heart. Always be able to relax and unplug from reality on a daily basis to destress. Be able to walk away from things that negatively impact you. If you believe there are certain issues that cannot be dealt with alone, don’t be afraid to go and find a psychologist to talk about it.

The best way to keep track of your body is to have regular check-ups. Monitor your blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.
